Join us for a trip to the Hope Rock Quarry and go rock shopping.The rock type is slate and great for making crevice gardens. They also sell larger pieces of decorative stone to Anchorage Sand and Gravel. It is known as Hope Stone.

We’ll be meeting at the Midtown Mall Parking lot,Northern Lights side and be carpooling/caravanning to the quarry.

What to bring:
Truck or Trailer if you want lots of rocks.They have a bobcat on site to help you load larger rocks.

Buckets for a small amount of rock/topdressing for your troughs or a small rock garden.
Its about a two hour drive to get to the quarry from Anchorage, so we’ll probably not get back in town till 3 pm
